Prysm Inc., a video display provider offering brilliant life-like and life-size displays for truly immersive experiences, announced a new Laser Phosphor Display (LPD) installation in the Wallenberg Auditorium at the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) building in Stockholm, Sweden. The 14' by 6.5' Prysm videowall serves as the centerpiece of the academy's new state-of-the-art auditorium hailed as the most cutting-edge in Scandinavia.
Prysm LPD will deliver a powerful communication experience for the auditorium's 150-person audience serving key constituents including business, research, government and international partners. The auditorium's design and interior architecture have been revitalized after 30 years of intense use with its official reopening on Feb. 22, 2013. Renowned integrator, Informationsteknik Stockholm, selected Prysm's solution for its unmatched image quality and outstanding eco-friendliness.
"We were briefed by our client that the AV technology brought in must be an innovator within its field to fit the ethos of the IVA and the superbly redesigned Wallenberg Auditorium," said Patrik Camp, managing director of Informationsteknik Stockholm. "Prysm's LPD videowall fits perfectly as its low power consumption, impressive uniformity and ultra-wide viewing angles were key value points for the large auditorium. We are proud to showcase this technology in the Wallenberg Auditorium and have been very pleased with the support and engineering backup Prysm provides."
Prysm is the only company offering LPD technology. LPD solutions deliver a uniform picture quality over the life of the display, and offer contrast, fill factors and fast response times delivering brilliant and immersive video. Prysm displays are the world's greenest, designed to decrease energy costs while simultaneously providing an unparalleled viewing experience for customers. Prysm displays use up to 75 percent less energy and decrease the production of greenhouse gases by 80 percent when compared to competing LCD, LED, plasma and rear-projector videowall displays.
"The IVA installation is an exciting example of how cutting-edge LPD technology can provide immersive experiences for audiences at a wide range of venues including some of the world's most venerable institutions," said Amit Jain, co-founder and CEO of Prysm. "The industry-leading viewing angles Prysm offers are tailored perfectly for large audiences such as those in the Wallenberg Auditorium. With close to 180-degree views, everyone in the room enjoys a stunning visual experience that only LPD can deliver."
Prysm offers interactive and immersive capabilities, including the availability of on-screen gesture sensors, interactive touch screens, remote control access, up to 180-degree curved walls and free form videowall capabilities.
