I spend a lot of my time at Prysm talking to existing customers about our products and services, especially when it’s time to renew their contracts. Invariably, the most enthusiastic customers are those who take advantage of our full solution — using Prysm Application Suite in concert with a Prysm touchscreen display.
Don’t get me wrong. Our customers also love our static displays in their own right. But those who leverage our interactive touch capability really understand the magic of what we offer.
Here’s why:
1. It’s more engaging. When people interact with your content, it takes them from being passive observers to true participants in the experience.
For example, I’ve seen car dealerships that have large displays on which they show a video or slideshow of their inventory of products and services. It’s a great way to get customers interested in their offerings while they’re browsing or waiting for service. The bad news is that these displays are passive and easily ignored. What’s more, not every customer has the same needs or interests. Upgrading to touch gives the visitor the ability to choose what they’d like to see.
Now imagine a car dealership customer who’s getting an oil change. Maybe they’re interested in a new car (or maybe they haven’t yet thought of trading up, but the dealership wants to get them interested in the idea). Great — the dealer can show a slideshow of their inventory. But if a new car isn’t on the horizon for that customer, they'll probably tune out. Why not show the main screen with several options, such as "Limited-Time Financing Promotions," "New Car Inventory," "Pre-owned Models," and "Great Deals on Tires"? Then the customer can walk up to the display and touch the option of their choice. It could turn their wait time into an opportunity to sell.
The takeaway is: when customers are engaged, they become more interested in what you have to offer.
2. It allows you to give more polished internal presentations and sales demos. I’ve sat through my share of presentations where I’m dying inside as I watch a seemingly endless procession of PowerPoint slides march across a screen. It’s not only boring but the content is limited to those pre-selected slides. Sure, the presenter can pull up a browser to show a website or launch a video in response to a question. But that involves exiting or minimizing PowerPoint, bringing up a browser, typing in the URL, etc., while your audience starts to snore. What’s more, it can look unprofessional, especially when you have to expose your desktop to the viewer while you open up the browser or launch the video.
Now, imagine you have a Prysm display with touch capability running Prysm Application Suite. You can have several pieces of content on the screen at once – the website, a video, the PowerPoint, and a spreadsheet, for example. Now, all you have to do is touch the content you want to show, without ever leaving the environment. It’s faster, it’s easier and it makes for a much slicker presentation.
3. It turns a customer-experience center (CEC) into an actual “experience.” If you’re using a static display in your CEC, you always need someone there to lead the experience for your visitors. But you can save staff time and add interest by upgrading to a touch display. Just like the car-dealership example, a CEC visitor can customize the presentation by clicking on the features or topics that hold the most interest for them. Add some impressive visuals, and you’ve got a captivating, immersive experience that’s bound to make a memorable impression. When the presentation is sales-led, it's still a great option, because the presenter can easily adapt the presentation to the audience and provide relevant content.
